The film Dad is a feature-length portrait of the well-known Czech author, actor, lyricist, screenwriter Zdeněk Svěrák. The film was shot together by the creator's son, director Jan Svěrák, and his colleague Martin Dostál. The spectator has the opportunity to experience the magic of many decades of belonging, the laws of which are based on the success of the famous Cimrman theater ensemble. A look into childhood reveals unknown reflections of Zdeněk Svěrák's personal experiences in films based on his screenplays.
